These days, every well-respected music magazine published a Best of Playlist featuring their Best of 2011. As I’m considering myself as a big music lover, I thought it would be pretty nice to do my own Top 5, even if it’s just to bother myself. I noticed pretty quick that putting up a top 5 isn’t such an easy job so I started crawling my Itunes library, comparing favorite tracks to most played tracks. As I mentioned before, this wasn’t an easy task, but I finally finished the list and I’m a bit sorry for the french band Aaron, which made N°6. So here’s my Top 5 – Best Albums of 2011 including favourite tracks.

I recently finished the catalogue for the upcoming Design Friends conference held by Elvis Pompilio, an internationally acclaimed hat designer. The entrance is free and the speech is held in french.

The mentioned catalogue will be available during the event. It’s free for members, non-members pay 5€. A Design Friends membership is recommended, members pay 30€ (15€ for students!) per year and get free entry to all events as well as one free copy per conference. Adobe vs. Coding

Adobe Systems hat ein neues Programm vorgestellt, das unter dem Codenamen “Muse” ab sofort als Beta heruntergeladen werden Kann. Das Programm ermöglicht es HTML-Seiten zu erstellen, und das ohne Kenntnis vom Code. Klingt wie ein perfektes Tool für Designer, vielleicht zu gut. Immerhin will man seine ganzen gestalterischen Kompetenzen auch voll ausschöpfen und nicht am Programmieren verzweifeln.

Erste Tests mit der Beta liefen bei mir ganz gut. Das Programm ist schnell heruntergeladen und einsatzbereit. Starten und Arbeiten geht ganz flott und für Freunde von Illustrator & Co gestaltet sich der Einstieg sicherlich ohne Probleme. Ob das Programm wirklich Programmieren überflüssig macht, wage ich zu bezweifeln. Auch wenn es natürlich von Vorteil wäre, zumindest für Designer. Leider habe ich noch zu wenig Erfahrung mit Webdesign um sagen zu können, ob sich mit dem Programm auch jedes momentan programmierbare Feature einfach durchsetzen lässt.

Adobe Muse ist meiner Meinung nach genau das, was auf dem Markt noch fehlt. Kann man nur hoffen, dass MUSE seine Aufgabe auch gut und vor allem professionell erledigen kann.

#brotlos – Zeitschriftenkonzeption

So, mitten im Abgabenstress nehme ich mir noch mal kurz Zeit einen kleinen Beitrag zu verfassen. Immerhin war am Montag unsere Zeitschriftenpräsentation im Modul Typografische Grundlagen III und so ergibt sich doch die Gelegenheit, die in Zusammenarbeit mit Irina M. entstandene Arbeit, vorzustellen. Die Aufgabenstellung bestand darin, ein Zeitschriftenkonzept freier Themenwahl auszuarbeiten und mehrere Doppelseiten (Text-Bild, reine Textseite,…) zu gestalten. Herausgekommen ist ein Hochschulmagazin der Gestaltungsfachbereiche der FH Trier, genannt brotlos. Ich möchte die Gelegenheit nutzen und noch einmal Irina für die fabelhafte Zusammenarbeit danken. спасибо!

Hier gibt’s die Arbeit nochmal zum Durchblättern. Wie immer sind Feedback und Kritik ausdrücklich erwünscht.
